What is video watermark removal?

Video watermark removal is the process of painting over a logo, timestamp, or unwanted object so it no longer shows in the picture. VidPackit does the whole job inside your browser: the file is read with the File API, decoded through WebCodecs, each frame is edited on a canvas, and the result is re-encoded and written back to your device — so no part of your video reaches a server. You draw a box around the mark, pick Blur, Cover, or Smart Inpaint, and the tool rewrites just that region across every frame. There is no upload queue, no sign-up and no file size cap. It is free, and it runs on desktop Chrome and Edge.

How to remove a watermark from video

  1. Drop in your video

Drag a video onto the box above or pick one from your disk. VidPackit reads its duration, resolution and audio track, then shows you what it found.

  2. Select the watermark

Press "Drag to select the watermark area", then draw a box over the logo or object you want gone. Release to lock the region; use Clear selection to start again.

  3. Pick a method

Blur softens the region, Cover fills it with the average colour of the surrounding pixels, and Smart Inpaint reconstructs the area with an offline algorithm that runs entirely in your browser — no download and nothing to wait for. Blur has a strength slider.

  4. Remove and download

Press Remove Watermark and your browser rewrites every frame locally, with a progress bar. Download the MP4 when it finishes. Nothing was uploaded at any point.

When the watermark only shows up in part of the video, trim that part out before you begin so you export just the clean section.

Three ways to remove a watermark

Blur

Applies a Gaussian blur to the selected region. Fast and always available; the strength slider controls how soft the area becomes.

Cover

Fills the region with the average colour sampled from the pixels just outside it — a quick, seamless patch for solid or simple backgrounds.

Smart Inpaint

Reconstructs the area from its surroundings with a pure in-browser algorithm — no download and no internet needed. Best on detailed or textured backgrounds.

Only need the audio from the clip? extract the audio pulls the soundtrack out as an MP3.

Privacy and security

Removal happens inside the page you have open. Your video is read with the File API, decoded by your browser through WebCodecs, edited on a canvas and written back on your device. No copy goes to VidPackit or anywhere else.

You can check that yourself in about a minute:

  • Open the Network tab in your browser dev tools, then remove a watermark. No request carries your video data.
  • Turn off your Wi-Fi after the page has loaded. The tool keeps working, because it does not need a connection.
  • Close the tab and the file is gone. Nothing is kept on a server because nothing was ever uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is the watermark remover free?

Yes. No account, no payment step, no daily limit and no watermark of our own on the output. Process as many files as your device can handle.

Are my videos uploaded anywhere?

No. Editing runs in your browser with WebCodecs and canvas, so the file never leaves your device. The privacy section above lists two ways to verify that yourself.

Which removal method should I use?

Blur is the fastest and works everywhere; use it for soft marks. Cover is best for logos on a plain background. Smart Inpaint gives the cleanest result on detailed, textured backgrounds and needs no download or internet connection.

Which browsers work?

Desktop Chrome and Edge. They ship the complete WebCodecs support this kind of in-browser encoding needs. Other browsers show a warning above the tool.
